Overview

Sodium bicarbonate, commonly known as baking soda, is an inorganic compound in the form of a white crystalline powder.
It is odorless, tastes salty or alkaline, and is easily soluble in water.
It decomposes slowly in humid or hot air, and strongly decomposes in acid to produce carbon dioxide.
Its aqueous solution is weakly alkaline due to hydrolysis.
It can be used as analytical reagent, inorganic synthesis, and also can be used as food bulking agent.
Widely used in industry, such as rubber, metallurgy and other industries.
