Overview
DL-Malic acid is a mixture of D-malic acid and L-malic acid. Malic acid, also known as: 2-hydroxybutanedioic acid, has two stereoisomers due to an asymmetric carbon atom in the molecule. Namely, the left-handed form (L-malic acid) and the right-handed form (D-malic acid). In nature, malic acid exists in three forms, namely D-malic acid, L-malic acid and DL-malic acid.
Application
Food industry application: an important component of natural juice industry application: adding malic acid in various tablets and syrups can present a fruity taste, and is beneficial to absorption and diffusion in the body. It is often mixed into compound amino acid injections to improve the utilization of amino acids.
