Overview
Magnesium chloride is an inorganic substance, colorless flaky crystal, slightly soluble in acetone, soluble in water, ethanol, methanol, pyridine. It deliquesces and fumes in humid air, and sublimates when white hot in a stream of hydrogen.
Application fields:
1. It is an important inorganic raw material in chemical industry, used in the production of magnesium carbonate, magnesium hydroxide, magnesium oxide and other magnesium products, also used as raw materials for antifreeze, etc.
2. In metallurgical industry, it is used for the production of magnesium metal (obtained by molten electrolysis), liquid chlorine and high purity magnesium sand.
3. Medicine: magnesium chloride is made into “brine dry” can be used as medicine. Can be used as a laxative.
8. Agriculture: It can be used to make magnesium fertilizer, potassium-magnesium fertilizer and cotton defoliant.
